I have always been fascinated with colorful, sparkly, pretty jewelry and trinkets. It seems only natural that this fascination has led me to create beautiful wire wrapped jewelry. From the very beginning I have found wire to be a wonderful way to set my fused dichroic glass canochons. I love the challenge of putting my dichroic fused glass into intricate wire wrapped settings and accenting them with semi-precious and precious gemstones. I think my first introduction to "wire art" was my dad teaching me how to make hooks (jump rings), cute eyes and other wired details for stained glass suncatchers.
I was raised in an artistically encouraging family. We were always trying some new idea for crafts or to reuse stuff. As a child we grew and canned most of our food. Mom sewed most of our clothes and it seemed like there wasn't much dad to could fix or make. Back then reduce, reuse and recycle was a normal part of life.
I am an only child and have been in the stained glass field since the "ripe old age of eight". I live in beautiful Bend, Oregon with my two amazing adult sons and our seven furbabies. I own Bend Stained Glass Co. suppling eastern Oregon with retail stained glass supplies. I create custom stained glass pieces and do a lot of stained glass repair work. I also teach basic and intermediary stained glass and basic glass fusing.
